UUM COB WELCOMES FIRST BATCH OF NEW POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS ON CAMPUS IN POST-PANDEMIC

UUM ONLINE: The Postgraduate Studies Unit at UUM College of Business (COB PSU) is thrilled to announce that, three years following the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, new students had the opportunity to physically register on campus for the September 2023/2024 (231) Trimester.

A total of 163 international and local new students received letters of admission for their respective postgraduate programmes.

In his welcoming address, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Subramaniam Sri Ramalu, the Director of PSU, expressed his joy in welcoming all the new postgraduate students to Universiti Utara Malaysia and the College of Business. He further reiterated that based on the extensive range of academic programmes offered, the number of faculty, and the size of the student enrollment, UUM COB is among the largest business schools in the area.

The prestigious AACSB accreditation, which is based in the US and given to business schools that uphold the highest standards for giving students a top-notch business education, is something that UUM COB is proud to have. Rest assured, it is committed to providing a high-quality education and a distinctive learning experience throughout the students’ academic journey at UUM.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Subramaniam concluded his speech by offering valuable advice to the research students, emphasising the importance of carefully planning their studies and maintaining a close working relationship with their supervisor. In addition to motivation, he called on the students to demonstrate discipline in order to successfully complete their studies on time.

Throughout the briefing, the students were provided with essential information regarding academic rules and regulations that will serve as their reference throughout their studies.

Students were also reminded to access the COB PSU website and official social media platforms such as Facebook and Telegram in order to stay updated with the latest information and announcements. The students subsequently participated in an academic programme briefing with the school's programme coordinators.

The briefing session was also attended by Dr. Francis Chuah, the Postgraduate Coordinator of COB PSU, as well as the representative of the Dean and Programme Coordinators of the various schools.
